Our Annual Harvest Service at Branockstown is one of our two biggest services of the year, and with the renovation work nearing completion, there is a lot to wrap up for tomorrow night.
One of the projects that will not be done before the service is the floors. Not wanting to move the pews in for just the one service and then have to move them back out, we are fortunate that Open Arms Community Church is loaning us 100 chairs for the day. Since we are still considering replacing our pews with chairs, this will also allow us to get a feel for how it might look.
After the service we have a time of tea and desserts in our fellowship hall, where we just discovered another leak in the roof (second one in a month). A couple men from the church are doing a temporary patch job, and we hope to replace the hall roof within another month.
Please remember me in your prayers as I fine-tune the message, and also for the musicians as they make the final decisions on music. We’ll be having two different scripture readers that would appreciate your prayers, and also pray for Alisha as she is running the sound and projection. This will be our first service in the main building since the renovations began two months ago, so also pray that all the electrical, lighting, and heating work as well. We’ll be sure to update you as soon as we recover from the night!
