Record Flooding in Ireland

November 25th, 2009 · 1:17 pm @ Alisha  -  No Comments

Record flooding has been happening around Ireland for about a week now.  The West and North have been most affected, especially those areas closest to swollen rivers.  Where we used to live in Athy has been flooded by the River Barrow.  Cork city has experienced flooding not seen in 800 years (yes, eight hundred), and half of the city is without clean drinking water.  The downpours we’ve seen in our area are the worst we’ve ever witnessed, yet we’re blessed that we’ve not been directly affected or flooded out.  Rain is still forecast until Saturday and photos from around the country show no encouraging signs of the water receding, so please pray for those around Ireland who have been displaced or have lost their homes and businesses due to water damage.
