2009 Ministry in Review
The end of the year is approaching quickly (having completed my first year as pastor in Branockstown)! Just a few weeks ago we spent some time at church reflecting on the year and looking ahead to 2010. In remembering how God has blessed us so very much this year, we listed everything that we were able to be part of at Branockstown Baptist Church. We just wanted to share what you, through your prayer and financial support, have been part of as well… and remember, the list doesn’t include a few ministry accomplishments outside of Branockstown.
New Church Website (with public calendar, photos, etc.)
5 New Families (1 more family showing interest)
Attendance Doubled (more than, but not tripled…yet)
Creche / Small Hall Renovation (inside & out…hanging plants outside, new furniture, curtains, paint, floors)
Notice Board usage (cork board) with updated calendar of events, other things monitored
Child Protection Policies/Officer
Went through a Deacon change
Creche/Sunday School Planning (will soon establish a Children’s Director)
Service Time Change
Began writing a long list of much needed policies
Added sound system in service
Added projection in service
Record sermons/provide podcasting
Restored communication with “sister church” in North Carolina
Started using text messages to remind/communicate with the church
Communion Change from shared chalice to individual cups
Annual Church Business Meeting plus two “update” lunch meetings
New Tea & Biscuit Time After Service (new carafes for tea/coffee)
New Twice Monthly Prayer Night
New 10:30 am Sunday Prayer Time
Renovations – Electrical, Lighting (Inside & Out), New Plumbing, Insulated Plaster Boards, Skimmed, Paint (outside trim & front door, too), Floor Refinished, Upgraded Sound System (new speakers)
New Church Sign
New Outreach Service (Monthly in New Year with Goal of Twice Monthly and then Weekly)
New Church Computer
New Digital Piano
New Mail Box (church did not have one before)
Hosted Tigh Linn Gospel Choir fundraiser for Christian drug rehab
2 Baptisms
2 Baby dedications
Completed full rotation of Special Services: Carol, Christmas, Good Friday, Easter, Kids Camp with 30 kids participating, Harvest, Evening
Promotion in local papers/online of every special church event throughout year
New church fellowship events including bowling, barbeques, picnics, church walks, and more.
…and Hosted 2 mission teams plus 5 other supporters.
Please realize how much we appreciate all of your prayer and financial support that has allowed us to see so much progress this year. I don’t believe we can fully comprehend all the sacrifices that are being made, but we do know that we are not alone and the lives of many have been blessed because of so many of you! Thank you; we are truly grateful!
