The last couple weeks there has been talk of a possible white Christmas, and while we have had a tiny bit of snow, I’m not so sure we’ll get it.
Oh well, it has still been an amazing Christmas season, and it isn’t over yet.
The last couple weeks have been so busy, but we have been blessed time and time again with God opportunities. The local primary school in Branockstown used the church for their two carol services and packed it out both days. It gave a chance for many adults in the village to see the renovations, meet the two of us, and for some, step into the church for the very first time. We were able to reconnect with some of the kids that were at our summer Kids’ Club, and met many new ones. The school was very grateful, so we look forward to continuing to build a strong and healthy relationship with it and the teachers.
Last night we had our church’s Carol Service, traditionally called “Carols By Candlelight.” We had to bring in extra chairs and if anyone else had shown up, we would have had to turn them away. With 115 in attendance, I think it is our largest church event of the entire year! We were blessed with a string ensemble of five and a soloist who we met through the addiction rehab that I work with.
All the hard work on the renovations (especially the new heating system) proved to be a success as after the service, one of the visitors said they had never been warm at a Branockstown Carol Service before.
One of my favorite parts of the evening was when the actual service was over, a first time visitor (a young man from Germany) came up to me to ask some questions about Jesus. The man was clearly not a Christian by the questions he asked, but his questions indicated that he seemed very curious and talked about coming back in the new year. Please pray for “I”, that the Holy Spirit will continue to speak to his open heart.
And on that wonderful note, we are heading out to spend Christmas Eve with a church family, so hope you all are well, warm, and blessed!
