The Big Thaw

We’re happy to report that we’re completely thawed out from the snow.  Last Friday was when we saw real change in the environment (green grass and blue sky instead of all white!), and the weather has warmed up to 50 degrees F, which is a bit warm for this time of year.  The church boiler has finally been restored to normal use, and the two radiators in the small hall have been repaired.  Yesterday’s service went back to normal, and we had a great turnout as the roads were much safer.  We were very blessed that all utilities kept going for us, but this is not the case in many areas.

This last weekend we received gale force winds which blew down many power lines in areas.  With these winds came some significant rain.  Since some areas are pretty soaked from the November rains, they have simply re-flooded; the River Avoca burst its banks in County Wicklow.  Numerous, deep potholes have appeared on roads and councils have no funds to fix them.  And some counties, including Dublin, have residents who have had no running water to their houses for upwards of three weeks, due to burst pipes and increased water demand.  Please keep in prayer the thousands of people still dealing with these difficult issues to everyday life.

We will keep all people dealing with difficult issues in our prayers. I do not know how they get through them without the Lord . Glad to hear the weather as improved.
    Love Mum and Dale
